The architectural firm that performed the FIT TEST has estimated a cost range from $4- 6 million; a target goal of $6 has not been considered outlandish.
Funding for major civic facilities like the Arts & culture centre is predicated on a one-third, one-third, one-third cost-sharing basis with federal, provincial and municipal levels of government. While support from upper levels of government is being explored, the city is forging ahead with the issuance of a request for proposal in 2019 and a community group has come together to lead the efforts of the community which will constitute a portion of the municipal third. This group has adopted the slogan “Be the Link” and is inviting supporters to be links, to donate funds to build this missing link in the city’s offerings. With our fine medical, educational and athletic facilities, the arts & culture centre will make Cornwall a truly complete, an all-service and all-amenities city.
